Congratulations to Rep. Oscar de los Santos, now Arizona House Democratic Leader!
CACSM worked with Leader de los Santos this cycle to support battleground districts and the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee through his PAC, the PAC for Arizona’s Future.
Following the November election the Arizona House of Representatives sits at a 33/27 R-D split, but Democratic leadership keeps the flipping of the chamber in their sights. The Arizona coalition successfully retained important battleground districts for Democrats with re-elections or first-time candidates and flipped D17 (Tucson) for Democrats.
Congratulations to Stephanie Simacek – D2 (Phoenix), Lorena Austin – D9 (Mesa), Seth Blattman – D9 (Mesa), Kevin Volk – D17 (Tucson), and Mariana Sandoval – D23 (Goodyear).
In his first term, Leader de los Santos (D11 – Phoenix) doubled the state’s cash assistance program for low-income families and spearheaded a coalition to restore access to food assistance programs for people with felony records. For those who seek opportunities to invest in young, ambitious progressive leadership, we suggest you get to know Leader de los Santos. Add him to your list of “folks to watch” as his star shines bright and he continues to rise.
We got a front row view of his commitment to the progressive movement. He’ll be serving alongside Assistant Leader Nancy Gutierrez and Whips Quantá Crews and Stacey Travers for the 57th Legislative Session.
