This year, CACSM expanded our political reach beyond Texas borders. In addition to supporting Amanda Edwards’ congressional efforts in Houston and our work to re-elect Travis County District Attorney José Garza and Austin City Councilmember Vanessa Fuentes, we worked with Rep. Oscar de los Santos and the PAC for Arizona’s Future to support Rep. de los Santos’ bolstering of the Arizona Democratic Legislative Campaign Committee and Arizona’s battleground districts. We also partnered with Dirtroad Organizing, an organization that provides concrete tools and strategies to support aspiring leaders in rural America, to train candidates and staffers from Florida to Maine to Washington state. Now, we’re off and running for 2025 with Sakib Shaikh and his campaign for San Antonio City Council.
On the nonprofit side of our operation, we had the opportunity to stretch our arts-muscles with the Austin Gay Men’s Chorus and Big Medium working with their boards to sharpen fundraising skills and hire executive leadership. In fact, we also hired senior leaders for Marathon Kids, and LINK Houston. We paired talented people with organizations innovating in their respective sectors. It’s exciting to be part of the search and hiring process for these folks and to see them hired. For those leaders and our partners at Schusterman Family Philanthropies, where we coached their nonprofit grantee executive on fundraising functions, we look forward to seeing how new leaders and new skills will advance important work and missions.
Thank you to all our clients and partners. We’re wishing everyone a happy holiday and looking forward to the work ahead of us in 2025.
